About Ingjerd
I’m Ingjerd - a movement teacher, retreat host, mother, lifelong creative, and founder of The Nordic Movement Studio.
My work weaves together yoga, Pilates, somatic movement, breathwork and nervous-system awareness into practices for real bodies and real lives. I’m drawn to the space where strength meets softness, structure meets intuition, and movement becomes a way back to ourselves.
Before this became my work, it became a way home for me.
Creativity was always my first language - writing, music, dancing, making, imagining. But I also know what it is to feel anxious, overwhelmed, in pain, and disconnected from your own rhythm. Through motherhood, chronic pain, loss, rebuilding, and learning to listen more deeply, movement became less about performing and more about remembering: my body, my breath, my truth.

My method
I don’t believe one method has all the answers.
That is why my teaching blends yoga, Pilates, somatic movement, breathwork, mobility, emotional awareness and nervous-system support. Some days we need to strengthen. Some days we need to soften. Some days we need structure, and some days we need freedom.
At the core of my work is the belief that movement can help us build stability, release tension, reconnect with intuition, and come back to the deeper parts of ourselves that often get buried under stress, responsibility and expectation.
The foundation I now share
I came to this work through my own need to feel more at home in myself.
Yoga first found me in a season where anxiety was taking up too much space. I was tired of pushing through, holding myself together, and living mostly from my head. Yin taught me something I didn’t know I needed: that I could soften without falling apart. That I could breathe, listen, and slowly return to my body.
Later, Pilates and strength-based movement helped me rebuild in a different way — through chronic pain, hypermobility, pregnancy, motherhood, and the very real demands of building studios while life kept changing around me. I learned that softness alone wasn’t enough. I needed strength. I needed stability. I needed practices that could hold real life, not just the peaceful parts.
Over time, I stopped looking for one perfect method. I began creating a foundation instead — one strong and soft enough to support the transitions, tenderness, beauty and mess of being human.
That foundation is what I now share through The Heartled Yogi and The Nordic Movement Studio, online and in-person.
Where we can meet.
Whether you are drawn to a retreat, an online practice, a workshop, or a class at the studio, my intention is the same: to create spaces where you can feel supported, grounded, and gently guided back to yourself.
You don’t need to arrive flexible, experienced, calm, or with everything figured out. You can come as you are — with your real body, your real life, and whatever season you are in.
From there, we move.
We strengthen.
We soften.
We listen.
We come home.
Warmly,
Ingjerd
